Located on the Fort Henry-Dover Road.
Note: The following surnames are in alphabetical order.
However, we have chosen to not alphabetize the given names in order to
group the spouses and children. Basically, I have put the names in
the same order as in the Cemetery Book. The Cemetery Book had
numerous "typos" and other errors. I have tried to correct errors as
I find them, but I'm sure that I have missed others. And, of course, I
may have introduced other errors as I re-enter the data from the
Cemetery Book to the Web Page. If you find an error, and you can
document your correction, please email me, and I will make the
necessary change. The locations are those given in the Cemetery Book,
and are not always clear to those not familiar with the county. We
will try to improve directions as time permits. If you can give me
clear directions to a cemetery that can be followed by someone who is
not familiar with Stewart County, please forward those directions to
me to be included on our Cemetery Page. Thank you for your patience.

Note: Kentucky Lake Reservoir Cemeteries, page 105, list: "#81 SEXTON CEMETERY - Located on Land Map 76, Tract GIR-2975, seven graves. According to C. C. West, the property owner, there had been no evidence of graves there for the past 15 years as the area had been in cultivation during that time. Remain permits were executed on the graves of six persons known to have been buried here, but the exact location of the graves was not known. No further action was necessary." George Sexton and his wife, Mary Ellen Sexton are listed in this cemetery also. The informant was J.[esse] D.[udley] Sexton, George's nephew. There is evidence that this is not George William Sexton, Sr. and his wife. Court records show George William, Sr. dying in 1878, and his wife's name as Mary Ann. Some believe that Mary Ann's maiden name was Weston. George had a son, George William Sexton, Jr., but we do not know when he died or where he is buried. It could be that this is George, Jr., and the birth date is wrong.
